We are looking for a motivated,positiveand keen Senior Accountant who will be completing accounting, compliance and tax-related work from start to finish.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS’s) and Installment Activity Statements (IAS’s)
- Prepare Financial Statements, including Depreciation Schedulesfor sole traders, partnerships, trusts and companies
- Prepare Income Tax Returnsfor sole traders, partnerships, trusts and companies
- Preparation of FBT Returns
- Proficient in taxation issues such as Division 7A and CGT
- Computer data input
- Assist Clients with MYOB,Xero&QuickBooksQueries
- Contact Clientsregardingqueries, ifrequired,under instruction from the manager or partner
- Complete timesheet daily
- Provide general accounting and taxation advice to clients
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant taxation and other relevant legislation and rulings.
- Research and accurately interpret taxation and other relevant legislation and rulings for clients
- Participate in external and internal training asrequired
- Ensure that all work is error-free and professionally presented andcomplies withprocedures and systems
- Maintain current andaccuratefiles and record and date any actions and detailed file notes
- Update Job Manageron a daily basis
- Prepare P & L and cash flow budgets for clients
- Use available resources to seek answers to technical questions prior to consulting manager
- Other duties as requested
Requirements
- Bachelor of Accountancy / Commerce and Certified Public Accountant / Chartered Accountant
- Minimum of 4 years of Australian accounting and taxation experience
- XeroCertified
- Experience in the preparation and review of financial statements and income tax returns for individuals,partnerships,companies, and trusts
- Experience working with Australian SMEs
- Competent with computer operations as well as some specific applications, such as Xero, MYOB, Microsoft Word, Excel, outlook
- Experience with relevant computer systems
- The person must be keen to learn and develop their computer competencies
- Particularly good in verbal and written English communication skills
