Job summary

DroneDeploy seeks a Senior Software Engineer, 3D, to own major parts of our web-based 3D viewer, built with TypeScript, Angular, and Three.js. You will craft high-performance visualizations for large spatial datasets and drive 3D feature work from concept to production with cross-functional partners.

You’ll collaborate remotely from the US, overlap with PT hours, and contribute to AI-assisted development while maintaining strong engineering standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Advanced expertise with Three.js and the modern 3D web ecosystem.
• Strong experience architecting and shipping large SPAs in TypeScript/Angular.
• Experience delivering production 3D/graphics-heavy features with performance tuning.
• Familiarity with 3D data formats and pipelines consumed by web viewers.
• Effective written and verbal communication with cross-functional partners.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core components of the 3D viewer using TypeScript, Angular, and Three.js.
• Lead design for significant 3D features, translating problems into executable plans.
• Profile and optimize rendering and loading for complex scenes across devices.
• Ensure robust testing with unit, integration, and performance testing (Vitest, Playwright).
• Leverage AI-assisted development while upholding code quality and maintainability.
• Contribute to shared engineering standards, docs, and code reviews across the team.
