Job summary

Inchcape plc is seeking a Security Engineering Technical Lead to implement and maintain technical security controls, collaborating with the Security Architect, SOC, and Threat teams to strengthen the organisation's security posture.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with IT Operations to minimise business impact, and produce documentation while aligning with security standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of cybersecurity operations, engineering, or similar roles.
• Hands-on with deploying and tuning EDR/XDR and email security solutions.
• Strong knowledge of IPS/IDS, WAF, and SASE technologies.
• Experience with IAM/PAM, SIEM/SOAR, and cloud security practices.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead during incidents.

Responsibilities

• Implement and deploy new technical security controls.
• Manage day-to-day operations of security tools and platforms.
• Optimize controls to defend against threats and incidents.
• Troubleshoot issues with IT Operations and coordinate resolutions.
• Ensure controls align with security standards and GRC requirements.
• Produce procedures, reports, and documentation for operators.
• Monitor metrics like availability, utilization, and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with SOC and Threat teams to improve security posture.
• Provide technical leadership during major incidents.
• Mentor and support junior security engineers.
