Job summary

Google Operations Center is seeking a Security Engineer Specialist - Safe Browsing to protect users by analyzing phishing and malware threats. You will analyze threats, develop data-driven insights, and improve detection systems while collaborating with webmasters, users, and partners.

You will work to enhance trust in Safe Browsing and the company brand, using analytical thinking and data-driven decisions to guide improvements in security operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field or related experience.
• Hands-on experience in security operations or analytical support.
• Familiarity with SQL querying and basic scripting concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to follow complex instructions and workflows accurately.

Responsibilities

• Investigate potentially malicious websites and software to understand behavior and impact.
• Develop basic data analyses with SQL and Python to identify threats at scale.
• Use threat analysis tools to analyze URLs and payloads for malware intelligence.
• Diagnose detection gaps and contribute to improving systems.
• Review escalations, manage bug resolution, and communicate with reporters.
• Configure an analytical dashboard for reporting.
