Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of working experience required.
• Bachelor/College degree in Biology; Education/Teaching/Training or equivalent.
• Master’s degree in Biology Education or related field.
• Deep understanding of Cambridge International Curriculum (IGCSE & AS/A-Level).
• Preferred: at least 3 years teaching at AS/A-Level.
• CIE Practical Examiner Training Certificate preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English.
• Strong classroom management and student-centered teaching approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Biology and Science lessons aligned to Cambridge international curriculum for Grades 7–12.
• Conduct interactive laboratory experiments with strict lab safety and inquiry-based learning.
• Assess student understanding through formative and summative assessments and adapt teaching strategies.
• Identify and mentor high-aptitude Biology students for national/international Olympiads and competitions.
• Design training materials and advanced problem-solving sessions for exam preparation.
• Maintain a positive, disciplined classroom and safe laboratory environment.
• Plan and participate in school events (Science Fair, STEM exhibitions, open houses, workshops).
• Communicate progress and behavior development with parents; participate in faculty meetings and PD.

Job Description

• The High School Biology Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality Biology instruction to secondary students (Grades 7–12). Beyond standard curriculum delivery, this role focuses on ensuring complete concept comprehension, training
• Plan, prepare, and deliver comprehensive Biology and general Science lessons adhering to Cambridge / international curriculum standards for Grades 7–12.
• .Conduct interactive laboratory experiments, ensuring strict adherence to lab safety procedures and practical scientific inquiry.
• Continuously check for student understanding through formative and summative assessments, adjusting teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Identify, select, and mentor students with high aptitude in Biology for national and international science Olympiads, research and academic competitions.
• Design specialized training materials, advanced problem-solving sessions, and practical exam preparation to coach competition candidates effectively.
• Establish and maintain a positive, disciplined, and productive classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Enforce clear behavioral standards and safety rules in both the classroom and the Biology laboratory.
• Manage inventory, laboratory equipment, and instructional resources responsibly and safely.
• Lead or assist in planning and executing school events (e.g., Annual Science Fair, STEM exhibitions, open houses, and academic workshops).
• Actively participate in faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and school-wide administrative committees.
• Regularly assess, grade, and record student academic performance and lab work.
• Communicate transparently with parents regarding student progress, academic performance, and behavioral development.

Qualification

• A minimum of 3 year(s) of working experience is required.
• Candidates must be a Bachelor's / College Degree holder in Biology; Education/Teaching/Training or similar fields.
• Master’s Degree (S2) in Biology Education or a closely related field.
• Curriculum Expertise: Deep understanding and familiarity with the Cambridge International Curriculum (IGCSE & As/A-Level).
• Experience (Preferred): Minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience at the As/A-Level standard.
• Holder of a CIE Practical Examiner Training Certificate is strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English.
