Job summary

Avaloq is looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join the DevOps and QA team. You will be part of a group responsible for automation and innovation of Shift-Left QA for the Avaloq Banking Suite used by banks worldwide.

You will work with Java, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Gradle and other technologies, delivering high-quality automation solutions in close collaboration with Developers, Test Managers and Release Managers.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development and associated frameworks (e.g. JEE, Spring, OSGi, Angular).
• Experience with REST APIs and message-based systems (e.g. XML, JSON).
• Highly motivated, collaborative team player who likes to analyze and solve complex challenges.
• Comfortable with communicating with stakeholders and collaborating with other teams.
• Strong written and spoken English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality Java code and maintain robust frameworks and tools for Shift-Left automation, utilizing Java and microservices with a REST API for new features and enhancements.
• Debug complex software issues and optimize application performance through targeted code improvements and refactoring.
• Collaborate with product owners to understand and prioritize requirements, and partner with configuration specialists and engineers to meet standards.
• Own and be accountable for specific components of the frameworks and tools.
• Collaborate with development teams working on applications and microservices.
• Operate within an agile environment, contributing to continuous improvement of processes.
