Job summary

Laurel School District is seeking a School Psychologist for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves evaluating students, collaborating with families and staff, and supporting eligibility decisions through comprehensive testing and reporting.

The position is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, 11 months (207 days), with salary per the district’s teacher pay schedule and benefits in line with Laurel policies. Start date is August 24, 2026 or mutually agreed date.

Qualifications

• Must qualify for Delaware School Psychologist Certification at time of hire.
• Must have completed a supervised internship.
• Demonstrated knowledge of MTSS and related support strategies.
• Knowledge of diagnostic procedures, instructional interventions and student accommodations.
• Knowledge of behavioral interventions and crisis management.
• Favorable background and child registry checks.
• Tuberculin test required.
• Direct Deposit participation required.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals for evaluations and determine interventions.
• Attend required school, student, and instructional meetings.
• Collaborate with parents and staff to support academic and behavioral progress.
• Administer and interpret cognitive, achievement, developmental, and behavioral evaluations for eligibility/IEP.
• Review external evaluation results to determine eligibility and need for additional assessments.
• Schedule classroom observations and direct intervention time.
• Prepare comprehensive psychoeducational reports and ESR documents per guidelines.
• Monitor timelines for evaluation and reporting.
• Collect and report student data for FBA processes.
• Participate in Child Find and Kindergarten screenings district-wide.
• Consult with outside agencies when needed.
• Other related duties as assigned.
