Job summary

Relief International (RI) is seeking a Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) Officer to drive SBCC, RCCE, social mobilization and accountability activities in BARMM, Philippines. You will coordinate with health teams, government counterparts, and partners to strengthen community participation and health-seeking behavior.

The role requires leadership in communication campaigns, feedback mechanisms, and learning from project data to adapt programming.

Qualifications

• Three years of relevant experience in social and behavior change communication, health promotion, public health, nutrition, community development, or related programming.
• Experience designing and implementing behavior change interventions in health and/or nutrition projects.
• Experience developing communication strategies, campaigns, and IEC materials.
• Experience in audience analysis, community engagement, social mobilization, or demand generation activities.
• Experience facilitating trainings and capacity-building initiatives for staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
• Experience working with local government units, health facilities, and community-based structures.
• Strong report-writing, documentation, and communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Organize community mobilization activities that promote participation in health interventions and services.
• Engage community leaders, faith leaders, traditional leaders, volunteers, and local influencers to support project implementation.
• Support demand generation initiatives for routine immunization, maternal and child health services, disease prevention, mental health and psychosocial support, and other project priorities.
• Identify barriers affecting service uptake and recommend community-based approaches to improve access and utilization.
• Coordinate closely with the Health Officer to ensure communication and mobilization efforts support health service delivery activities.
• Prepare and document project outcomes, and contribute to behavior change strategies informed by monitoring data and community feedback.
• Support the establishment and strengthening of community engagement platforms and volunteer networks.
