Job summary

PM Consulting is seeking an experienced SAP MDG Assistant Manager to support enterprise data governance and SAP S/4HANA transformation. You will design, implement, and enhance master data management solutions across multi-system environments, collaborating with business stakeholders and cross-functional delivery groups.

This role encompasses leading end-to-end MDG projects, configuring workflows, validations, and data models, and coordinating with ABAP teams for integrations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years SAP implementation and support experience across multiple industries.
• Hands-on in at least two end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementations.
• Proven expertise in SAP MDG (implementation and/or support environments).
• Strong understanding of SAP core modules such as SD, MM, and FI.
• Experience with business process design, blueprinting, and functional specification development.
• Hands-on knowledge of data replication frameworks (IDocs, web services, etc.).
• Experience with MDG configuration including workflows, validations, derivations, and data models.
• Ability to work in dynamic, fast-paced transformation environments.
• Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Overview

Our client, a global professional services organization, is looking for an experienced SAP MDG Assistant Manager to support enterprise data governance and SAP S/4HANA transformation initiatives. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and enhancing master data management solutions across complex, multi-system environments. The successful candidate will be part of a transformation-focused team delivering end-to-end SAP MDG solutions, working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and cross-functional delivery groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead or contribute to the end-to-end delivery of SAP MDG solutions, including requirements gathering, solution design, build, testing, and deployment.
• Support business workshops to capture requirements and translate them into functional and process designs aligned with best practices.
• Design and document business blueprints, functional specifications, and solution design documents.

Master Data Governance & Implementation

• Work on SAP MDG modules including Customer, Supplier, Business Partner, and Finance master data objects (e.g., General Ledger, Cost Center, Profit Center, Internal Orders).
• Configure and support data models, workflows, validations, and derivations within MDG environments.
• Implement and enhance data replication and integration processes using standard frameworks (e.g., IDocs, web services).

Technical & Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with development teams for custom enhancements, interfaces, and WRICEF objects.
• Support testing activities including test planning, test case development, and execution of functional and integration testing.
• Perform root cause analysis and support issue resolution across cross-functional SAP teams.

Process & Data Governance

• Participate in design and improvement of master data governance processes and operating models.
• Support duplicate checks, data quality validations, and rule-based governance mechanisms.
• Contribute to MDG workflow design, including standard, rule-based, and multi-step approval flows.

Project & Stakeholder Management

• Manage or support delivery of small to mid-sized implementation or enhancement projects.
• Engage with stakeholders across regions to facilitate discussions and align on solution design.
• Support multi-tasking across engagements while maintaining delivery quality and timelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of SAP implementation and support experience across multiple industries.
• Strong hands-on experience in at least two end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementations.

• SAP MDG certification (preferred).

Education

• Graduate or Postgraduate degree in any relevant field.

Additional Notes

• Strong experience in customer/vendor integration (CVI) is highly desirable.
• Exposure to S/4HANA and Fiori applications is advantageous.
• Experience in workflow configuration and governance automation is a strong plus.
