Overview
The Sales Manager for Trucks and Heavy Equipment is responsible for leading the sales efforts, developing strategies, and managing the sales team to achieve the company's sales objectives in the trucks and heavy equipment sector. This role involves building and maintaining customer relationships, driving business growth, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Sales Team Management: Recruit, train, motivate, and manage a team of sales representatives.
- Sales Goal Achievement: Develop and implement strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
- Sales Forecasting: Develop accurate sales forecasts and reports.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as marketing and service, to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve sales objectives.
- Lead Generation: Develop and implement strategies to generate new leads and sales opportunities.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of the company's heavy equipment products and their applications.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- Sales Experience: 3-5 years of experience in selling and knowledge of the market with a proven track record in sales, preferably in the heavy equipment industry.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and motivate a sales team.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate effectively with clients.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve sales-related issues.
- Business Acumen: Understanding of business principles and financial management.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with heavy equipment and its applications.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
