• Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify causes and corrective actions
• Training workers on safety topics and facilitating toolbox meetings
• Reporting on health, safety, security, and the environment
• Stopping work when conditions are unsafe for workers
• Monitoring compliance of the operation's group in maintaining good housekeeping
• Leading inspection and tagging of equipment, lifting gears, and fire extinguishers
• Assisting government inspectors in health and safety inspections
