Mount Carmel Medical Center in the Philippines is seeking a Safety Officer to help implement safety programs, conduct inspections, identify hazards, and promote a strong culture of safety across the hospital.
You will lead orientations and training, monitor compliance with OSH laws and hospital policies, coordinate with departments, and assist in emergency preparedness and incident investigations to maintain a safe workplace.
The Safety Officer will assist in implementing safety programs, conducting inspections, identifying hazards, and promoting a strong culture of safety throughout the hospital.
Implement and monitor hospital occupational health and safety policies and programs.
Conduct regular safety inspections and identify potential hazards and risks.
Recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions for identified safety concerns.
Ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health laws, regulations, and hospital policies.
Conduct safety orientations, training, and awareness programs for employees.
Assist in emergency preparedness, fire safety, evacuation drills, and disaster response activities.
Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-miss reports and prepare necessary documentation.
Maintain and update safety records, reports, inspection checklists, and other related documents.
Coordinate with different hospital departments regarding safety concerns and corrective actions.
Monitor proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with safety procedures.
Assist in maintaining a safe environment in clinical, administrative, and support areas.
Perform other safety-related duties as assigned by management.
Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferably with relevant experience in hospital, healthcare, or clinical settings.
Must have appropriate Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) training/certification as required by applicable regulations.
Knowledge of workplace safety, risk assessment, emergency preparedness, and incident investigation.
Good communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with different departments.
Responsible, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying safety hazards.
