Job summary

SOLIMAN ECOWASTE MANAGEMENT CORPORATION is seeking a Safety Assistant to support the Safety Officer in implementing safety policies and programs on site in Pampanga. You will help conduct inspections, ensure PPE usage, and assist in preparing safety reports and permits.

The role involves assisting with toolbox talks, safety orientations, incident investigations, and coordinating with staff and visitors on safety rules. College-level education and basic safety training are preferred.

Qualifications

• College level or graduate of any related course.
• With Basic Occupational Safety and Health Training, preferably SO1 or SO2.
• With or without work experience.
• Knowledgeable in workplace safety rules and procedures.
• Able to identify hazards and risks.
• With good communication, documentation, and basic computer skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and willing to learn safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Safety Officer in implementing company safety policies, programs, and procedures.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, hazards, and risks.
• Assist in monitoring employee compliance with safety rules, use of personal protective equipment, and safe work practices.
• Help prepare and maintain safety reports, inspection checklists, incident reports, permits, and other safety-related documentation.
• Assist in conducting toolbox meetings, safety orientations, and awareness activities.
• Report accidents, incidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the Safety Officer or immediate superior.
• Support the investigation of workplace incidents and assist in preparing corrective and preventive action reports.
• Monitor housekeeping, proper waste handling, emergency exits, fire safety equipment, warning signs, and other safety-related requirements.
• Assist in ensuring that safety equipment, PPE, first aid kits, emergency supplies, and fire protection devices are available and properly maintained.
• Coordinate with employees, contractors, and visitors regarding basic safety rules and site requirements.
• Assist in emergency preparedness activities, drills, and response procedures.
• Perform other safety-related tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
