Job summary

XDOF is seeking a Robotics Controls Engineer in the Philippines to design and implement high-performance control systems for dexterous manipulators and humanoid robots. You will work across simulation and hardware, ensuring safe, precise, and repeatable robot motion through advanced impedance and optimization-based control techniques.

You should bring hands-on experience with real robots, strong C++/Python skills, and a solid foundation in robot dynamics and feedback control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in robotics, mechanical/electrical engineering, CS, or related field.
• Strong fundamentals in robot dynamics, kinematics, and feedback control.
• Hands-on experience implementing controllers on real robotic systems, not just in simulation.
• Strong C++ and/or Python, and comfort with real-time robotics systems.

Responsibilities

• Implement joint-space and Cartesian impedance/torque control for 7+ DoF robotic arms.
• Build whole-body control for humanoids with mobile bases and torsos.
• Design optimization-based controllers (QP, inverse dynamics, task/null-space).
• Develop collision-aware motion and control for robots.
• Integrate real-time control software from simulation to hardware deployment.
• Tune and validate controller performance across manipulation and locomotion tasks.
• Collaborate with data collection operators and hardware teams to diagnose control-related issues.
