A leading company in the waste management sector seeks a Head of Risk & Compliance to establish a robust risk management framework. This senior role ensures compliance with IMS and ISO standards and involves strategic planning, external audits, and maintaining a culture of ethical conduct across the organization. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in risk governance and compliance management, ideally within highly regulated industries.
Position Summary:
The Head of Risk & Compliance will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the company’s risk management framework, ensuring full compliance with IMS and ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and strategic risk mitigation practices. This leadership role requires hands-on experience in risk governance, strategic planning, external audits, and compliance management within highly regulated industries—preferably in the waste management sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the organization’s compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements.
Oversee compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements.
Manage and coordinate external audits, ensuring all corrective actions are addressed.
Support strategic planning initiatives and risk mitigation efforts across departments.
Train teams and advise leadership on emerging compliance and operational risks.
Review and update company policies and procedures to align with current laws and best practices.
Monitor and report compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
Lead risk-based strategic planning processes and provide expert advice to business units on risk impact.
Train and guide staff on compliance protocols, internal controls, and regulatory updates.
Foster a culture of ethical conduct, integrity, and accountability across all levels of the organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Law, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
At least 10 years of progressive experience in risk management, compliance, or corporate governance
Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership or department head role
Proven experience handling IMS, ISO certifications, and external audits
Strong understanding of Philippine environmental and industry regulations, particularly in the waste management sector
Demonstrated success in leading risk-based strategic planning initiatives
Professional certifications (e.g., CRMP, CCEP, ISO Lead Auditor, CPA, etc.) are an advantage
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills
High integrity and sound judgment in handling sensitive compliance matters
