Job description

Secure insurance protections for the company’s assets and liabilities. S/he is responsible for overseeing initial insurance placements, renewals and claims process with the insurance provider. S/he should analyze the insurance needs of the company by identifying risk exposures to provide optimum insurance coverage. Must have a strong understanding of insurance policies/coverage and principles. S/he must ensure that insurance protects the organization against disruption and business losses.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of a 4-year course preferably BS Accountancy, Finance, Management, Legal, or any related courses

  • With at least 3 years of related work experience in a related industry of notable size, complexity, and significance.

  • Knowledgeable in Insurance process and claims

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate effectively at all levels

  • Very Proficient in MS Office applications.

  • Knowledge of retail organizations’ systems and processes is a plus.

  • Experience managing several tasks and priorities and exercising independent working

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify new insurable risks and recommend effective management of the risks identified

  • Review existing insurance policies and define specific asset(s) and liability(ies) that may need to be covered or may need to have a broader policy cover

  • Negotiate the most cost-effective premium rates with broader policy coverage every renewal periods

  • Develops policies and process together with the Business Process team to ensure that risks are managed effectively and processes on all areas of the section are covered

  • Secure approval from the management on the rates and coverage

  • Ensures monthly, quarterly or annual declarations of coverage to insurance companies

  • Ensures that all policies subject for renewal are renewed at least one month before the expiration date of coverage

  • Monthly status reporting to immediate head

  • Ensures appropriate billings from the insurance companies and signs on the check request for accounting to process

  • Point person for every incident that requires claims and ensure that claims are directed to insurance providers.

  • Ensures and monitors that insurance claims are filed and paid by the insurance company

  • Validates and ensures completeness of the requirements of the insurance companies
