Job summary

At Atlassian, the Revenue and Technical Accounting Associate, Close and Reporting role is based in Manila with remote options. You will support day-to-day revenue accounting, month-end close, and ASC 606 application for standard contracts, while flagging unusual arrangements for senior review.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• 0–2 years of accounting, revenue accounting or external audit experience.
• Basic knowledge of US GAAP with ASC 606 principles or willingness to learn them.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to spot discrepancies in data.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables).
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to ask questions and raise issues early.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet close deadlines.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in revenue and technical accounting.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day revenue accounting and month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations and basic flux analysis.
• Apply ASC 606 to standard contracts and flag unusual arrangements for review.
• Prepare technical accounting memos and analyses with gathered data and schedules.
• Run reconciliations of revenue subledger against the general ledger and research variances.
• Carry out SOX controls over revenue and maintain proper documentation.
• Prepare schedules and tie-outs for quarterly/annual revenue disclosures and audits.
• Participate in user acceptance testing for revenue system enhancements and new products.
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline close and improve accuracy.
• Collaborate with Billing, Deal Desk, FP&A, Tax and other teams to gather required information.

Support day-to-day revenue accounting and month-end close: prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and basic flux analysis for senior team members to review.

Apply ASC 606 to standard customer contracts and transactions, and flag unusual or non-standard arrangements to senior accountants or leads.

Help prepare technical accounting memos and analyses by gathering contract data, building schedules and drafting sections under guidance.

Run and document reconciliations of revenue subledger data against the general ledger, including billing, Oracle and RevPro. Research variances and elevate any you can't resolve.

Carry out assigned SOX controls over revenue, keeping documentation complete, accurate and on time.

Prepare supporting schedules and tie-outs for quarterly and annual revenue disclosures and audit requests.

Join UAT for revenue system enhancements and new product launches by running test scripts and recording results.

Help find and roll out process improvements that make the close more efficient, more automated or more accurate.

Work with Billing, Deal Desk, FP&A, Tax and other teams to collect the information needed to account for revenue transactions correctly.

Support internal and external audits by preparing PBCs and supporting evidence and keeping process documentation up to date.

Required:

• A bachelor's degree in accounting
• 0–2 years of experience in accounting, revenue accounting or external audit (fresh graduates with relevant internships are welcome)
• Basic knowledge of US GAAP, with an understanding of ASC 606 principles or a willingness to learn them
• Good analytical skills and the ability to spot discrepancies in data
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (e.g., lookups, pivot tables)
• Clear written and verbal communication, and comfort asking questions and raising issues early
• Strong attention to detail, ownership of assigned tasks and the ability to meet close deadlines
• Eagerness to learn, take feedback and grow in revenue and technical accounting

Preferred:

• CPA, or working toward the CPA licensure exam
• Big 4 or public accounting experience, ideally with technology or SaaS clients
• Exposure to SaaS or subscription-based businesses
• Familiarity with ERP or revenue systems such as Oracle or Zuora
• Basic understanding of SOX controls and documentation
