Job summary

At Atlassian Philippines, Inc. in Manila, we are hiring a Revenue Accountant to support day-to-day revenue accounting and the monthly close. You will apply ASC 606 to contracts, reconcile subledgers, and prepare analyses to ensure accurate, timely revenue recognition.

You will collaborate with Billing, FP&A, Tax, Legal, and Systems teams, participate in SOX controls, and contribute to process improvements and system enhancements tied to new products and acquisitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• 2–3 years of revenue accounting, technical accounting, or external audit experience.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day revenue accounting and month-end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis.
• Apply ASC 606 to customer contracts and transactions; identify unusual or complex arrangements for leadership evaluation.
• Prepare technical accounting memos, position papers, and supporting analyses for new products, pricing changes, and non-standard deals.
• Validate and reconcile revenue subledger data against the general ledger, including billing, Oracle, and RevPro; investigate discrepancies.
• Execute and document SOX controls over revenue; evaluate control design and suggest improvements.
• Prepare quarterly and annual revenue disclosures and supporting schedules for external reporting, including SEC filings and audit requests.
• Translate business and accounting needs into system and process requirements; support UAT for revenue system enhancements, new product launches, and acquisitions.
• Lead small projects and contribute to cross-functional initiatives to improve close efficiency, automation, and data quality.
• Partner with Billing, Deal Desk, FP&A, Tax, Legal, and systems teams as a trusted advisor on revenue matters.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing clear, well-documented processes and supporting evidence.

Required:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills: break down complex transactions, spot anomalies, and draw well-supported conclusions.

• 2–3 years of experience in revenue accounting, technical accounting, or external audit.

• Working knowledge of US GAAP, particularly ASC 606.

• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical accounting conclusions to non-accounting stakeholders.

• High attention to detail and ownership of deliverables and deadlines.

• Experience with close-process improvement or automation tools.

Preferred:

• CPA

• Big 4 public accounting experience, ideally auditing technology or SaaS clients.

• Experience with SaaS or subscription-based businesses.

• Hands-on experience with revenue and ERP systems such as Zuora and Oracle.

• Familiarity with SOX controls and documentation.
