Job summary

Chinabank PH is seeking a Research Associate to conduct rigorous research and develop credible, timely views on equities and industries to support reliable investment recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders.

The role requires monitoring local and global market developments, analyzing their impact on covered companies, building financial models, and producing thematic research reports as assigned by the Equity Research Department Head or Head Economist.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4-year degree in business, finance, or capital markets.
• Post-graduate degree in business, finance, or capital markets preferred.
• Professional certifications preferred.
• CFA Level II examinations preferred.

Job description

The Research Associate performs research and development of accurate, credible, and timely views on equities and industries in order to make reliable recommendations. Monitors local and global market developments, and analyzes impact on covered companies and industries. Educational Background

• Minimum of a 4-year degree in the field of business, finance, or capital markets
• Preferably has post-graduate degree in the field of business, finance, or capital markets
• Preferably has professional certifications
• Preferably has passed the CFA Level II examinations

Professional Experience

• Preferably has at least 1-3 years of experience in a similar field and relevant professional experience in sell-or buy-side equity research

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Excellent research, analytical, writing and presentation skills
• Interest and aptitude for capital markets and finance. Experience in financial modelling is an advantage.
• Preferably proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Excel
• Preferably has working knowledge of the field of equity research, various industries, listed companies, and basic economics
• Preferably familiar with sources of relevant industry data
• Able to work efficiently whether independently or within a team
