Job summary

Glass Lewis is seeking entry-level Research & Data Associates in Manila on a fixed-term contract. You will support research, data operations, policy analysis, or voting operations, contributing to proxy reports and governance analyses used by global investors.

Incoming associates receive comprehensive training and will join a hybrid team based in Makati, with in-person days three times a week. Bachelor's degree is required, with recent internships welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Performs data collection independently; procure, interpret, review, and analyze public filings, annual reports, and disclosures to extract information.
• Review publicly available information and support voting recommendations based on Glass Lewis policies.
• Communicate and collaborate with analysts in Manila and across the globe to ensure timely delivery of reports; may conduct peer editing and onboarding.
• Perform responsibilities related to Research, Policy Operations, Voting Operations, Data Operations, and APAC/North American governance research.
• Perform tasks related to Glass Lewis Technology Development Projects.
• Maintain utmost confidentiality in handling Glass Lewis data and information properties.

We are seekingResearch & Data Associatesto join various teams within our Manila office on a fixed-term (1 year) contract. Depending on the team you are assigned to, you will support research, data operations, policy analysis, or voting operations functions—contributing directly to the proxy reports and governance analyses that guide institutional investors worldwide.

This role is highly supervised and reports to a Supervising Analyst, Senior Supervising Analyst, or Manager of the respective team. It is ideal for individuals seeking an entry to junior-level position in corporate governance and is a particularly valuable experience for those wishing to pursue careers or graduate study in business, law, public policy, proxy voting and stewardship, or financial services, among others.

Incoming associates will receive comprehensive training, which may require onsite attendance for the duration of the training period (generally up to one month). Strong candidates will have a foundation in corporate governance and a willingness to expand their expertise.

This role is a full-time employment and hybrid, based out of our Makati office, with regular in‑person attendance three days a week.

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least six months of experience in an active corporate governance research role. Highly skilled internships will be considered in lieu of work experience.
• Strong analytical and qualitative research skills, with keen attention to detail and ability to process information quickly and accurately.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Strong time management, problem solving, and interpersonal communication skills for both in‑person and remote settings.
• Ability to work effectively, both independently and within a global team.
• Proficient with computers, basic math and standard business applications including Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams).

Highly Desired

• Work experience in writing and/or editing research.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, or teaching.
• Basic understanding of HTML.

Across all teams, Research and Data Associates are expected to:

• Performs data collection independently. Procure, interpret, review, and analyze public filings, annual reports, and other disclosures to extract relevant information.
• Review publicly available information as disclosed by public companies and support the issuance of voting recommendations based on Glass Lewis policies.
• Communicate and collaborate with analysts in Manila and across the globe to ensure timely delivery of reports. May conduct peer editing: act as buddy for Research Associates/new hire onboarding.
• Perform responsibilities related to Research (all markets), Policy Operations, Voting Operations, Data Operations, North American Governance Research, North American Executive Compensation and APAC Research.
• Perform all related tasks to Glass Lewis Technology Development Projects.
• Maintain utmost confidentiality in handling Glass Lewis Data and Information properties.
