Job summary

MicroSourcing in the Philippines is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer / SolidWorks Designer to support sales and engineering with design reviews, cost estimates, and manufacturing drawings, and to work with SolidWorks, IGES, STEP, CATIA, and AutoCAD files.

You will manage drawings through the development cycle, assist with NPI and ECOs, develop SolidWorks macros, and contribute to continuous improvement in a remote, night‑shift environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of SolidWorks experience in 3D mechanical design.
• Strong understanding of datum schemes, fitment, assembly requirements, and part interaction.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to learn new processes and technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and work during U.S. Eastern Time Zone hours.

Responsibilities

• Support sales and engineering with design reviews, cost estimates, and drawings.
• Import and work with customer CAD files, including SolidWorks, IGES, STEP, CATIA, and AutoCAD formats.
• Perform design calculations and review requirements for additional manufacturing processes such as cutting, taping, and molding.
• Work with engineering and operations teams to understand manufacturing capabilities, processes, and constraints.
• Manage drawings throughout the product development cycle, from initial estimating information through development and production-ready drawings.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, design reviews, and Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
• Create PDF drawings and maintain drawing documentation within the manufacturing system.
• Assist with basic gauge design, detailing, and work orders for fabrication.
• Develop SolidWorks macros and design templates to improve engineering efficiency.
• Participate in product development, process engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage multiple engineering tasks and support other projects as assigned.
