Job summary

PeoplePartners is seeking a seasoned Software QA Lead to own QA delivery for an Australian client. You will balance hands-on testing with coaching Test Analysts, strengthen test automation, and partner with Product, BA, and Engineering to improve quality.

You’ll drive risk-based testing, explore AI-assisted tools, and promote quality governance across Agile teams while maintaining delivery schedules and release readiness. Fully remote role based from the Philippines.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, Testing, or Quality Engineering.
• Proven experience leading a QA team, including coaching and performance management.
• Strong hands-on experience testing web apps, APIs, integrations, and distributed services.
• Experience performing manual, functional, integration, exploratory, and regression testing.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests.
• Strong troubleshooting and defect investigation skills across UI, API, database, and backend services.
• Working knowledge of SQL for database validation and defect investigation.
• Understanding of risk-based testing, test coverage, defect management, and software quality practices.
• Experience working in Agile software development environments.
• Ability to assess quality risks and communicate testing progress and release readiness.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to balance hands-on testing with QA leadership responsibilities.
• Experience testing applications hosted on AWS.
• Experience using AI-assisted testing tools or techniques.
• Experience improving automated regression testing coverage, reliability, and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily QA activities, testing priorities, and delivery across sprints and releases.
• Perform functional, integration, exploratory, regression, and automated testing.
• Test web apps, APIs, integrations, and distributed services.
• Manage, coach, and mentor Test Analysts, including performance management and skills development.
• Design, maintain, and improve automated test suites and regression coverage.
• Implement risk-based testing strategies focused on critical business functionality.
• Investigate defects across UI, API, SQL databases, and backend services.
• Identify quality risks, testing dependencies, and potential release blockers.
• Collaborate with Product, Business Analysis, and Engineering to clarify requirements and improve testability.
• Support defect triage, root cause analysis, and release-readiness assessments.
• Evaluate AI-assisted testing tools to improve efficiency and coverage while maintaining security.
• Identify opportunities to improve QA processes and defect prevention.
• Promote shared accountability for software quality across development teams.
