The ideal candidate has strong hands‑on Python experience and familiarity with Django, Flask, or FastAPI, plus skill in database design, testing, and code quality. You will collaborate with QA, frontend, and business stakeholders in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python programming.
• Experience with at least one Python web framework: Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting production web applications.
• Solid experience developing RESTful APIs, back-end services, and software integrations.
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience working with existing codebases and the ability to understand unfamiliar applications and technical architectures.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles, debugging, version control, and code quality.
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify gaps, edge cases, and potential technical issues before implementation.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while communicating effectively with the wider development team.
• Clear, proactive, and effective communicator who can explain technical issues in understandable terms, ask the right questions early, and provide timely updates.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using Python and frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Develop and maintain back‑end services, application logic, business rules, and RESTful APIs.
• Build and maintain integrations between internal applications, databases, third‑party platforms, and external APIs.
• Design, manage, and optimize database structures, relationships, and SQL queries using relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Quickly get up to speed on existing applications and codebases, understanding established architecture, business logic, and development practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to existing systems and users.
• Implement appropriate authentication, authorization, data validation, error handling, and secure coding practices.
• Write and maintain unit tests and integration tests to ensure application reliability and code quality.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement practical improvements to application efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development standards, coding practices, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate closely with QA Engineers, front‑end developers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements, identify potential gaps, and minimize unnecessary revision cycles.
• Assist with application deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting across development, staging, and production environments.
• Work with version control systems such as Git and support development workflows, CI/CD processes, and cloud‑based deployments.
• Investigate technical challenges and recommend practical, maintainable, and scalable solutions.
