BairesDev is a fully remote software company delivering technology solutions for global clients. We are seeking a Software Engineer specializing in PostgreSQL to design and develop custom extensions, optimize queries, and contribute to PostgreSQL internals.

You will work on challenging data architectures and high-availability systems from anywhere. Ideal candidates have 4+ years of software engineering with PostgreSQL, PL/pgSQL, storage engines, and performance tuning, plus strong English.

Qualifications

4+ years of software engineering with a focus on database systems and PostgreSQL.
Proven expertise in developing and optimizing PostgreSQL extensions and PL/pgSQL.
Deep understanding of PostgreSQL internals, including storage engines and query planning.
Hands-on experience with advanced query optimization and performance tuning at scale.
Advanced proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

Design and develop custom PostgreSQL extensions to meet architectural and functional needs.
Optimize complex queries and database schemas for performance and efficiency.
Contribute to PostgreSQL internals and low-level optimizations for reliability and throughput.
Develop and maintain stored procedures and triggers using PL/pgSQL for data logic.
Troubleshoot and resolve deep-seated database performance bottlenecks and challenges.
