Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to OpenStack and Ceph deployments from a remote-first setup. You’ll work primarily in Python, collaborate with a globally distributed team, and help scale cloud infrastructure across multiple environments.

The role emphasizes open-source technologies, distributed systems, and participation in architectural discussions. International travel may be required a few times yearly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Professional software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience with OpenStack, OVN, Open vSwitch or related cloud technologies.
• Experience with non-x86 architectures (ARM64, s390, Power) is valuable.
• Strong understanding of software engineering, debugging, code review, and collaborative development.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality software and new features for OpenStack and Ceph deployment and management.
• Collaborate with a globally distributed engineering team to design solutions.
• Debug complex issues, investigate root causes, and implement fixes.
• Review code and provide constructive feedback to maintain standards.
• Work on infrastructure automation and infrastructure-as-code using Python.
• Participate in architecture discussions and collaborative problem-solving.
• Travel internationally 2–4 times per year for events.
