Job summary

Thumbtack is hiring an HR Business Partner to support the Commercial function (Sales, Customer Success, Service, Ops, Partnerships, BD) across the full employee lifecycle. The role partners with managers and employees, works during North American business hours, and shapes Thumbtack’s culture and People strategies globally.

You will collaborate with US, Canada, and Philippines teams, applying judgment, communication, and a bias toward action to drive engagement and performance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of HR experience with HRBP background.
• Ability to work North American business hours (PST preferred).
• Strong communication and judgment to build trust and handle tough conversations.
• Experience supporting high-volume frontline or commercial teams in fast-paced environments.
• Knowledge of performance management, PIPs, and change management.
• Comfort supporting employees across multiple geographies, including the Philippines.
• Experience in remote or virtual-first work.
• Experience in tech companies or marketplaces.
• Background in communications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Commercial client groups across Sales, Customer Success, Service, Operations, Partnerships and Business Development.
• Support full employee lifecycle as trusted advisor to managers and employees.
• Provide coaching for managers and teams; org design and workforce planning.
