Job summary

8Capita Sdn Bhd is seeking a capable Full Stack Java Developer to join our team and help build, enhance and support production-grade business applications. You will work across backend and frontend development in an Agile Scrum environment, delivering clean, maintainable code and contributing to engineering standards.

The role emphasizes Java, Spring and Hibernate, test-driven development, and collaboration with remote teams to deliver reliable software in production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of core Java development delivering production-quality code.
• 3+ years with Spring and Hibernate.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience with peer code reviews, unit testing and integration testing.
• Proficiency with industry-standard frameworks, tools and libraries.
• Experience with software delivery, development environments, source code management and CI processes.
• Competence with RDBMS, particularly Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Ability to learn quickly and collaborate in an Agile (Scrum) environment.
• Experience working independently and as part of a remote team.
• Fully remote role.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality backend and frontend application components.
• Deliver clean, efficient and maintainable production code.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests.
• Collaborate with team members in an Agile Scrum environment.
