Job summary

Manulife invites an experienced DevOps Platform Engineer to join our global team and help automate our engineering infrastructure, create repeatable CI/CD pipelines, and improve platform reliability.

You will collaborate with software engineers, product owners, and operations across time zones, participate in on-call rotations, and mentor peers while adopting Azure AKS, Linux, and modern configuration-management tools. This is a remote, international opportunity with Canada Eastern Time overlap.

Qualifications

• Platform technical delivery services (3 to 5 years)
• Advanced knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes clusters (Azure AKS a plus)
• Experience with Public/Private/Hybrid cloud architecture (PaaS), preferably Azure
• Knowledge of SCM tools (Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Artifactory, SonarQube, Snyk, GitGuardian)
• Knowledge of Configuration Management tools (Chef, Ansible)
• Experience with Linux/Unix/Windows
• Experience with scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell)
• Experience with TCP/UDP/HTTP networking and TLS/SFTP/HTTPS security
• Experience with platform monitoring and continuous improvement
• Experience with web servers (Apache, WebLogic, Nginx)
• Experience with databases (MS SQL, Oracle, DB2; PSQL/TSQL)
• Working with Agile and Lean delivery models and tools

Responsibilities

• Automate administration of DevOps engineering infrastructure and tools
• Develop, build and maintain pipeline automation scripts
• Support and maintain DevOps tooling platforms and on-call rotation
• Collaborate with product managers, software and operations engineers to deliver platform value
• Lead spikes to mitigate technical risk and uncertainty
• Help develop and improve standards, practices and methodologies
• Refine product backlog with the Technical Product Owner and participate in Look Ahead meetings
• Promote collaborative environment and stakeholder relationships
• Partner with architects to design platform configurations
• Mentor and coach other platform engineers on the team
