Job summary

Three Peaks International is hiring a Virtual Accounting and Bookkeeping professional to support a Sydney-based accounting firm. You will prepare financial statements and Australian tax returns for diverse clients, manage BAS/IAS/GST, and respond to ATO inquiries.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of Australian accounting experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, and proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, or MYOB.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in Australian accounting or similar role
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA or CA certification is highly desirable
• Proficient in Australian accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB
• Strong knowledge of Australian tax regulations, BAS/IAS/GST and compliance

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate financial statements and Australian tax returns for a portfolio of clients
• Manage and review BAS/IAS/GST preparations
• Handle ATO audits and inquiries
• Advise on updates and changes in Australian tax laws
• Process and reconcile invoices, payments, and expenses
• Assist with inter-entity transactions including Div7A and distributions
• Maintain client accounting records and supporting documentation
• Prepare and deliver regular financial reports and statements
• Communicate clearly with team members on financial matters
• Stay up to date with accounting regulations and software
