Job summary

TELUS Digital AI Community seeks an AI Safety & Policy Associate to guard training data and apply safety rules across thousands of scenarios. You will annotate content, classify harmful material, verify facts, and apply complex guidelines to edge cases, helping prevent unsafe model behavior.

This remote role requires a bachelor’s degree, native language proficiency, and English at least B1. You’ll work with a global team, receive flexible engagement terms, and contribute to evolving safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any field; humanities, social sciences, communications, or law preferred.
• Native language proficiency mandatory; understands regional harm nuances.
• English proficiency at least B1 to follow guidelines and log safety reports.
• Strong attention to detail for high-stakes analysis.

Responsibilities

• Safety annotation: evaluate AI outputs against safety rubrics and flag bias or prohibited topics.
• Harmful content classification: categorize hate, self-harm, illegal acts, and other harms.
• Fact-checking & grounding: verify claims with reliable sources to prevent hallucinations.
• Guideline application: apply complex policies to edge cases for consistent alignment.
• Feedback loop participation: report recurring weaknesses to governance leads.
