Job summary

PM Consulting in OrtigasCity, Philippines is seeking a Reinforcement Steel Estimator to prepare accurate quantity estimates for rebar projects. You will work closely with design, detailing, and manufacturing teams to ensure every quotation is technically sound, cost-competitive, and aligned with client requirements.

This fully onsite role requires strong analytical skills and experience in interpreting drawings, bar schedules, and fabrication costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in rebar estimating, detailing, or structural steel estimation.
• Familiarity with rebar detailing software (CADS RC, Tekla Structures, Bluebeam, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Study project drawings, specifications, and structural requirements to prepare accurate rebar estimates.
• Calculate quantities, weights, cutting and bending requirements, and related fabrication and delivery costs.
• Prepare and submit quotations and tenders, meeting deadlines and client expectations.
• Recommend value-engineered solutions to improve cost competitiveness and manufacturability.
• Work closely with design, detailing, and manufacturing teams to clarify schedules and requirements.
• Review and validate bar bending schedules (BBS) for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with production and logistics to align estimates with capacity and delivery schedules.
• Maintain tender records and contribute to cost databases and forecasts.

Job Summary

The Reinforcement Steel Estimator will prepare accurate and timely quantity estimates for rebar projects. Working closely with the design, detailing, and manufacturing teams, they will help ensure that every quotation is technically sound, cost-competitive, and aligned with quality standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Tendering

• Study project drawings, specifications, and structural requirements to prepare accurate rebar estimates
• Calculate quantities, weights, cutting and bending requirements, and related fabrication and delivery costs
• Prepare and submit quotations and tenders in line with deadlines and client expectations
• Recommend value-engineered solutions to improve cost competitiveness and manufacturability

Technical Coordination

• Work closely with design and detailing teams to clarify bar schedules, drawings, and client requirements
• Review and validate bar bending schedules (BBS) for accuracy and compliance
• Coordinate with manufacturing and logistics teams to align estimates with plant capacity, production planning, and delivery schedules
• Liaise with internal teams to clarify project scope, technical questions, and commercial terms

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Keep accurate records of tenders, pricing, and related correspondence
• Support the development of cost databases, standard pricing models, and market intelligence
• Contribute to monthly forecasting and pipeline reporting
• Ensure all estimates meet company quality standards, safety requirements, and relevant codes (e.g., CARES, Eurocodes, BS, IS)
• Follow internal compliance, ISO, and governance requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
• 3–5 years of experience in rebar estimating, detailing, or structural steel estimation
• Familiarity with rebar detailing software (e.g., CADS RC, Tekla Structures, Bluebeam, or equivalent)
• Knowledge of reinforcement manufacturing and cut & bend operations is an advantage
• Experience in the construction or precast concrete industry is beneficial
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail
• Able to read and interpret structural drawings and bar bending schedules
• Competent in rebar estimating software and MS Office, particularly Excel
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• Able to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tenders at once
• Team-oriented, with the ability to collaborate across design, manufacturing, and logistics
