Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Medical Intensive Care Units (MICU A/B). As an RN in the Critical Care unit, you will deliver patient-centered care in a highly collaborative environment during 36 hours per week on nights with rotating weekend shifts.

Responsibilities include triage, assessment, care planning, documentation, and communication with the health-care team and families.

Qualifications

• Must have an active or pending Massachusetts RN license or the ability to obtain one.
• 1+ year of RN experience preferred.
• BLS certification; ACLS required in certain units.
• Diploma, ASN or BSN preferred; ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Fluency in another language a plus.

About the Unit

Boston Medical Center has two Medical Intensive Care Units: MICU A with 17 beds and MICU B with 10 beds. Patient populations include the most acute medical patients—multisystem failure, renal failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and sepsis.

Position Summary
