Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Critical Care/Medical Intensive Care Units (MICU A & B). The role focuses on delivering patient-centered care in a collaborative environment with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

The job requires Massachusetts RN licensure (active or pending), 1+ year RN experience preferred, and BLS; ACLS may be required for some units. A nursing degree (diploma/ASN/BSN) is preferred, with BSN expected within four years.

Qualifications

• Active MA RN license or ability to obtain one.
• 1+ year RN experience preferred.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification required for certain units.
• Nursing degree: diploma, ASN, or BSN preferred; BSN within 4 years.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Critical Care unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and patient education.
• Communicate with health-care team, patients, and families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient-care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records, enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
• Assist the leadership team with quality improvement projects.
