Job summary

Ciena Corporation is seeking a Red Team Operator to plan and execute offensive security campaigns, perform penetration testing, and deliver actionable findings to technical and executive stakeholders.

You will develop scripts and tools to support red team operations and collaborate with IT, R&D, and security teams to strengthen defenses across products and platforms. Remote work options apply across multiple regions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in Red Team or Penetration Testing.
• Ability to read and modify Python-based tools.
• Understanding defensive security concepts (Zero Trust, least privilege).
• Strong written and verbal reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute red team campaigns, pentests, purple team exercises, and web app assessments.
• Communicate attack paths, findings, and replication steps to stakeholders.
• Develop scripts and offensive tools to support operations.
• Collaborate with IT, R&D, App Security, Product Security, and Monitoring teams.
• Maintain awareness of adversary tradecraft and emerging vulnerabilities.
• Train team members and contribute to security docs.
• Ensure secure handling of sensitive information during engagements.
