Job summary

Sun Life Financial seeks an experienced Senior Red Team Operator to simulate cyberattacks, identify vulnerabilities, and strengthen security. The role requires deep knowledge of attack vectors, malware, social engineering, and exploit development, with hands-on testing across networks, apps, and code.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of offensive security/penetration testing experience.
• Degree in computer science, computer engineering or computer security.
• Strong experience in offensive security programming and automation languages (C, C++, ASM, C#, JavaScript, PowerShell, Rust, Nim).
• Minimum 2 years mentoring junior and mid-level operators in red team tradecraft.
• Experience delivering technical red team reports and briefings (4+ years).
• Knowledge of information security concepts, trends and practices.
• Excellent problem solving and report-writing skills.
• Industry certifications (OSCP/SANS/CEH/CISSP, CPTS) are a strong asset.
• Understanding OS, networks, configurations; strong presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, carry out, and report on Red Team assessments and adversary emulation exercises.
• Perform network, web and mobile testing, source code reviews, threat analysis, social engineering assessments.
• Develop scripts and tools for Red Team operations.
• Manage a state-of-the-art, OPSEC-focused C2 Red Team cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP, Digital Ocean).
• Assist in testing detection capabilities through Purple Team and Red Team exercises.
• Research latest threats and align with Red Team frameworks.
• Produce weekly/monthly security vulnerability trend reports.
