Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Receive and unload merchandise from deliveries and verify against purchase orders.
• Inspect goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies and document issues.
• Scan and record all incoming inventory using WMS and POS tech.
• Organise and store merchandise in stockroom with proper labeling.
• Maintain accurate receiving documentation: receipts, POs, inventory logs.
• Communicate with suppliers and store management about delivery schedules and issues.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and storage standards, especially for perishables.
• Support stock rotation (FIFO) and assist with stockroom maintenance.
• Collaborate with departments to replenish stock on the sales floor.

This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our supply chain operations. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for managing the receipt and processing of all incoming merchandise and supplies. This role is essential to ensuring that our store operates smoothly, maintains accurate inventory levels, and delivers excellent customer service by having the right products available at all times.

What you'll be doing

• Receiving and unloading merchandise from delivery trucks and verifying that all items match the purchase orders
• Inspecting received goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies and documenting any issues
• Scanning and recording all incoming inventory using warehouse management systems and point-of-sale technology
• Organising and storing merchandise in designated areas of the stockroom, ensuring proper labelling and categorisation
• Maintaining accurate receiving documentation, including delivery receipts, purchase orders, and inventory logs
• Communicating with suppliers and store management regarding delivery schedules, order issues, or missing items
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, storage, and handling standards, particularly for perishable goods
• Supporting stock rotation to ensure older inventory is used first (FIFO method)
• Assisting with general stockroom maintenance and cleanliness
• Collaborating with other departments to facilitate timely stock replenishment on the sales floor

What we're looking for

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification
• Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk, warehouse assistant, or in a similar inventory management role within retail or a related industry
• Proficiency in using warehouse management systems, barcode scanners, and basic computer systems
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording and verifying inventory data
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliveries and prioritise tasks effectively
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise weighing up to 20 kilograms regularly
• Knowledge of food safety and storage protocols, particularly for supermarket environments
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and suppliers
• Reliability and punctuality, with a commitment to maintaining consistent work standards
• Preferably Filipino-based candidates with local market knowledge
