Job Description
Client Consultation
- Meet with clients to understand their property needs, whether they are buying, selling, or renting.
- Advise clients on current market conditions, pricing, and property options that align with their goals.
- Assist first-time buyers or sellers by explaining the process, including paperwork, inspections, and negotiations.
Property Listings and Marketing
- Create and update listings for properties that are available for sale or rent.
- Develop marketing materials, such as brochures, online listings, and virtual tours, to showcase properties.
- Advertise properties through online platforms, social media, and local networks.
Property Showings
- Schedule and conduct property viewings for prospective buyers or renters.
- Provide clients with detailed information on properties, including features, amenities, and potential drawbacks.
- Answer client questions and provide insight into the property’s value, neighborhood, and investment potential.
Negotiation and Transaction Management
- Act as an intermediary between buyers and sellers to negotiate terms of sale, prices, and closing dates.
- Facilitate offers, counteroffers, and contracts, ensuring they are clear and meet the legal requirements.
- Work with other professionals, such as mortgage brokers, inspectors, and attorneys, to move the transaction forward.
Education
- A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
- Many real estate agents also have a college degree in business, marketing, or a related field, although this is not always mandatory.
Licensing
- A valid real estate license from the state in which the agent works is required. This often involves completing pre-licensing courses and passing an exam.
- Continuing education is usually necessary to maintain the license.
Experience
- Prior experience in sales, customer service, or a related field is preferred but not always required.
- Experience working with real estate transactions, contracts, or property management is a plus
