Job summary

CHEQ Software Testing is seeking a seasoned Lead Quality Engineer to steer testing across multiple projects from strategy to release readiness. You will guide functional, API, performance, and UAT testing, while driving scalable automation frameworks and best practices.

You will mentor a team of Test Engineers and partner with Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD teams to embed quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in CS/IT/Engineering or related four-year program.
• Minimum seven years in Software Testing/QA/Quality Engineering with leadership of testing teams.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile, and quality metrics.
• Experience with automated testing, API testing, and performance testing.
• Experience in Web, Mobile, Enterprise, Cloud, or SaaS apps.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and source control.
• Knowledge of SQL and data validation; AI-assisted testing tools is a plus.

• Identify testing risks and mitigation strategies to improve quality and delivery outcomes.
• Mentor and develop Test Engineers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.

• Lead Quality Engineering activities across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, quality standards, delivery timelines, and release readiness goals.

• Ensure effective management of test environments, test data, test execution, defects, and testing deliverables.
• Monitor and communicate testing progress, quality metrics, risks, issues, and release readiness indicators to stakeholders.
• Review and validate business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications to ensure adequate test coverage.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or any related four-year course.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Software Testing, Quality Assurance, or Quality Engineering, including leadership of testing teams in Agile and cross-functional environments.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile methodologies, Quality Engineering principles, test strategy development, risk-based testing, test coverage analysis, and quality metrics.
• Strong programming and scripting skills using modern programming languages such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, Python, C#, or equivalent technologies.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated testing, API testing, and performance testing solutions.
• Experience testing Web, Mobile, Enterprise, Cloud, SaaS, or integrated business applications.
• Experience working within CI/CD pipelines and collaborative source control environments.
• Experience using test management and defect management platforms.
• Knowledge of SQL, data validation techniques, and AI-assisted testing tools.
