About the role

Gitamondoc-Gopaoco Construction Corporation is seeking a talented QA/QC Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. As a full-time QA/QC Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of our mechanical engineering projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in upholding the highest standards of our construction work.

What you'll be doing

  • Be completely familiar with the contract documents before commencement of the work

  • Notify the design professional of any discrepancies observed and request clarification for all items not fully understood

  • Organize a complete system of construction records such as;

    -Company Profile

    -As built drawings

    -Issued for Construction Drawing

    -Request for Approvals

    -Product Data Sheet

    -Materials Standard Specification

    -Test Report

    -Mill Test Certificate

    -Certificate of Calibration

    -Test Result

    -Warranty Certificate

    -Request for Inspection Report

    -Progress Report

    -Safety Summary Report

    -Inspection and Test Plan

    -Method Statement

    -Process Flow

    -Quality Checklist Reference and Forms

    -Shop Drawings

    -Reference Sketch and Drawings

    -Site Inspection

    -Variation/Change Order

    -Turnover Certificate

    -Accomplished Punchlist

    -Minutes of Meeting

    -Daily Logbook of Activity

    -Maintenance Reference

  • Keep ahead of the work being performed so as to anticipate items that might interfere with the progress of the construction.

  • Conduct on site inspection of the work in progress to determine compliance with the contract documents.

  • Report deficiencies observed to the immediate supervisor and the design professionals.

  • Get further details and information from the design team if required for the proper execution of the work.

  • Be familiar with codes applicable to the work.

  • Generally, be acquainted with and have access to reference code.

  • Request manufacturer data and specifications or printed instruction for reference

  • Observe the testing performs all test and inspection required. Keep a record of type of location. Review test results and notify the QA/QC department head of observed deficiencies.

  • Accompany the design professional's consultant when observing or inspecting the works.

  • Notify the QC Manager or Design Professional or materials deliveries that are out of sequence.

  • Observe owner occupancy or delivery of owner furnished equipment before completion.

  • Record and report any damage occurring so that claims can be fully documented.

  • Do not authorize deviation from the contract documents.

  • Be able to affirm that, in your judgement, the project conforms to the construction documents at the completion of work.

  • Realize the approved shop drawings are not contract documents and are not changed order. They serve to clarify or show more detail; however, the drawings and specifications prevail if there is conflict.

  • Provide and make other related documents needed by the QA/QC department such as:

    -Method Statement

    -Inspection and Test Plan

    -Control Log and Status of Documents

    -Request for Inspection Checklist

    -QA/QC Standard Forms

    -Updating QA/QC Reference Forms and Standard Checklist

    -Letter and Request Forms

    -Tracking on Site Actual QA/QC Accomplishment

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with PRC license

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a QA/QC Mechanical Engineer in the construction industry

  • Experience in AUTOCAD

  • Capable in Microsoft Office Software

  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, codes, and standards

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet project deadlines

  • With good moral character
