Job summary

A leading construction firm in the Philippines is seeking a QA/QC Manager. The ideal candidate will prepare QA/QC plans, establish quality procedures, and oversee material assessments. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field and at least 15 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in the railway sector. This role is critical as it ensures that quality standards are consistently met throughout construction projects.

Qualifications

• At least 15 years of experience in the construction field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the railway field.
• Preference for experience in overseas QA/QC field, especially in the Middle East.
• At least 15 years in construction, including 5 years in railway.
• Preference for overseas QA/QC experience, especially in the Middle East.
• Preference for experience with domestic construction companies if possible.

Responsibilities

• Prepare QA/QC plans for new construction and refurbishment work.
• Ensure establishment of quality procedures for inspection and testing.
• Oversee quality assessment of materials through laboratory tests.
• Ensure specific quality standards are constantly met at all levels of construction projects.
• Review technical specifications and recommend standard construction specifications for items of works.
• Review standard test forms, QA testing schedules and procedures and evaluate results.
• Review contractor practices and remedial actions as required.
• Work with project engineers and design consultants to establish inspection/testing procedures with time limits.
• Conduct initial survey queries on material sources, ensuring value.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.

• Ensure the establishment of quality procedures including time limits for inspection, sampling and testing of works and other QA/QC requirements.
• Oversee and manage quality assessment of materials through regular and rigid laboratory tests.
• Ensure specific quality standards are constantly met at all levels of construction projects.
• In consultation with the project staff, review technical specifications and recommend standard construction specifications for all items of works for their effective use in projects’ works.
• Review all standard test forms to be used during laboratory tests, QA testing schedules and procedures and evaluate results as appropriate.
• Review contractor practices and conventional methodologies and make recommendations where remedial action is required.
• Work with project engineers and design consultants for establishing procedures with time limits for the inspection, sampling and testing of works and all other QA/QC requirements.
• Conduct initial survey queries on sources to materials, ensuring quality and quantity is of economic value to the project.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Requirement:

• Candidates must be fluent in written and spoken English.
• The railway experience must be relevant for the position they are proposed for.
• Bachelor's degree or professional qualification in a construction-related field (required)
• At least 15 years of experience in the construction field, including at least 5 years of experience in the railway field (required)
• Preference for experience in overseas QA/QC field (especially, preference for experience in the Middle East)
• Preference for experience working for a domestic construction company (if possible)
