Job description

Responsible for coordinating welder performance qualification tests, welding procedure qualification tests, and preparing the Welding Procedure Qualification Record (WPQR).

Witnessing the entire destructive and nondestructive testing requirements of welding procedures, in accordance with applicable codes and standards such as ASME Section IX and AWS D1.1.

Providing training to site personnel on the implementation of the construction quality control program, including training welders and welding supervisors on approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS). Ensuring welders are qualified and certified by classification societies such as ABS, LR, GL, BV, and others.

Using FCAW process to perform 6G uphill welding on ASTM A-106 Schedule 80 carbon steel pipes with AWS 5.2 E-71T-1 (1.2mm ESAB) filler metals.

Using SMAW process to perform 6G uphill welding on API 5L Schedule 80 carbon steel pipes with AWS A5.1 E7018 (3.2mm ESAB) filler metals.

Using GTAW process for 6G uphill welding on CuNi90/10 grade pipes, 4mm thick, with AWS 5.7 ER-CuNi filler metals (2.4mm).

Reviewing welder qualification ranges, performance qualification test details, and monitoring records to ensure adherence to WPS.

Ensuring that incomplete work or malfunctions are addressed and ready for commissioning according to project requirements.

Leading and coordinating with clients, classification surveyors, and cross-functional teams to meet quality requirements, including NDT (UT, MT, PT, Vacuum Box Testing, Hardness Testing, PMI, PWHT), welding inspection, piping, pipeline, tank, and structural material verification, pressure testing, and post-weld heat treatment.
