Job summary

Planate Management Group is seeking a QA/QC Engineer to design quality standards, inspect materials, equipment, processes, and products, and develop quality control systems to meet construction quality targets. Willingness to relocate to project sites is required.

Key responsibilities include creating QA/QC plans, managing material testing, reviewing specifications, and ensuring adherence to QA procedures across projects.

Qualifications

• Licensed engineer with at least 5 years in large infrastructure projects.
• Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of onsite construction QA/QC and safety surveillance experience on commercial or military projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare QA/QC plans for new construction and refurbishment work.
• Establish quality procedures with inspection, sampling and testing time limits.
• Oversee and manage quality assessment of materials through lab tests.
• Review technical specifications and recommend standard construction specs.
• Review test forms, QA testing schedules and procedures; evaluate results.
• Assess contractor practices and suggest remedial actions.
• Collaborate with project engineers and design consultants on QA procedures and testing time limits.
• Conduct initial supplier/material source surveys to ensure value.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job description

TheQA/QC Engineer will be responsible for designing quality standards, inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems, and determining corrective actions to ensure specific quality standards are constantly met at all levels of construction projects.

You must be willing to relocate to any of our project sites.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare QA/QC plans for new construction and refurbishment work
• Ensure the establishment of quality procedures including time limits for inspection, sampling and testing of works and other QA/QC requirements
• Oversee and manage the quality assessment of materials through regular and rigid laboratory tests
• In consultation with the project staff, review technical specifications and recommend standard construction specifications for all items of works for their effective use in projects’ works
• Review all standard test forms to be used during laboratory tests, QA testing schedules and procedures and evaluate results as appropriate
• Review contractor practices and conventional methodologies and make recommendations where remedial action is required
• Work with project engineers and design consultants for establishing procedures with time limits for the inspection, sampling and testing of works and all other QA/QC requirements
• Conduct initial survey queries on sources to materials, ensuring quality and quantity is of economic value to the project
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications To be successful in the role:

• Licensed Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in large infrastructure projects.
• Preferably with Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors certification.
• Minimum 5 years of onsite construction quality assurance and construction safety surveillance experience on a commercial or military infrastructure project.
• Demonstrated experience in pre-stressing works and quality control, and experience in different classes of concrete mix-design, under different conditions of construction procedures.
• Excellent English in written and verbal communication skills.
• With a valid driver’s license.
