Job summary

ConnectOS is seeking a leader in performance testing to shape the organisation's strategy across programmes and product teams. You will define standards, establish frameworks, and drive governance for performance engineering.

You will provide architectural guidance on scalability and capacity planning, mentor QA engineers, review results, and push for ongoing improvements in performance, reliability, and delivery quality within a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in performance testing and engineering.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale performance testing solutions.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Define and maintain the organisation's performance testing and performance engineering strategy
• Establish performance testing standards, frameworks, methodologies, and governance in line with the Totalmobile test framework, and evaluate new tools, technologies, and industry best practices for adoption where they improve delivery quality.
• Lead performance testing activities across multiple programmes and product teams.
• Develop performance, scalability, reliability, and resilience test approaches aligned to business and technical requirements
• Provide architectural guidance on application performance, scalability, and capacity planning
• Review test results and provide recommendations for performance improvements.
• Design and implement end-to-end performance testing solutions:
  • o Define non-functional requirements (NFRs) and acceptance criteria.
  • o Develop workload models and performance test scenarios based on user behaviours and production data.
  • o Drive a shift-left performance engineering culture by embedding performance considerations early in the software development lifecycle.
  • o Review test results, identify performance bottlenecks, and work with development teams to recommend and support performance improvements.
• Act as the organisational subject matter expert for performance testing and engineering, mentoring QA engineers, performance testers, and technical teams.
• Define and monitor performance KPIs and quality metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across testing and engineering functions

Skills and experience

• Significant experience in performance testing and performance engineering.
• Proven experience designing enterprise-scale performance testing solutions.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, cloud-native architectures, and APIs.
• Experience with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, Gatling, NeoLoad, and k6.
• Strong knowledge of Application performance monitoring (APM), Infrastructure monitoring, Database performance analysis, Network performance analysis
• Experience working within Agile and DevOps environments.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and test automation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
