Job summary

DBP Service Corporation is seeking a field researcher to conduct clinical assessments (blood pressure) and interview participants using questionnaires across Samar and Biliran provinces. The role requires setting up and calibrating research equipment and ensuring data quality from the field.

The ideal candidate holds a nursing or midwifery degree with a professional license, has basic phlebotomy experience, and is willing to travel and communicate in Bisaya or Waray.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in midwifery or nursing with a valid professional license.
• 1 year relevant clinic/hospital experience, especially phlebotomy.
• Resident of Samar (Western) or Biliran; able to communicate in Bisaya/Waray.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessment (blood pressure) and interview participants.
• Set up and calibrate research equipment.
• Assist in anthropometric data collection and participant interviews.
• Conduct ECCD data collection and support field teams.
• Take responsibility for data completeness and encoding in forms/database.
• Handle packaging and maintenance of research equipment and documents.
• Provide first aid as needed.
• Retrieve laboratory results from partner hospitals and RHU.
• Issue diagnostic vouchers to study participants.
• Be willing to be assigned in Samar and Biliran for the program duration.
• Perform other tasks as directed by TL/ATL/Project leaders.

Preferred Qualification/Attributes:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Midwifery or Nursing with a professional license

• Preferably with 1 year of relevant experience in a clinic or hospital setting, particularly in phlebotomy

• Preferably a resident of Samar (Western) or Biliran provinces, or nearby provinces. Use of Bisaya or Waray dialects as a mode of communication will also be an advantage.

• Must be willing to work in Samar or Biliran province as a field researcher

Brief functions of the position:

• Conduct clinical assessment (blood pressure) and interview using questionnaires to study participants

• Set up and calibrate research equipment

• Assist in the anthropometric assessment (interview of participants) during data collection when the need arises

• Conduct ECCD data collection

• Pitch in as anthropometry researcher when the need arises

• Check the completeness of data; edit, encode in the forms and database, and submit to the team leader (TL) and assistant team leader (ATL) for review

• Take responsibility for the packaging, cleanliness, maintenance, and safekeeping of the research equipment, research materials, official documents, liquidation documents, and other field-related materials

• Provide first aid, as the need arises

• Take responsibility for the retrieval of laboratory results from partner hospitals and RHU

• Take responsibility for the issuance of diagnostic vouchers to study participants

• Willing to be assigned in Samar and Biliran provinces for the duration of the program

• Perform other tasks assigned by the TL, ATL, and project leaders
