Job summary

Alstom Ortigas, Manila, Philippines invites applications for a full‑time Project Planning Manager to lead scheduling for complex rail programs. You will act as the right hand of the Project Director, develop and validate baselines, run regular schedule reviews, and drive on‑time delivery with KPI dashboards and Earned Value reporting.

  • Engineering or Business degree holder.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in full-time planning and scheduling in industrial or construction.
  • Knowledge of scheduling tools and techniques.
  • Advanced MS Excel or data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of time-related contractual obligations and delay analysis.
  • Basic comprehension of railway industry products and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the right hand of the Project Director on all issues related to the project schedule.
  • Develop quality schedules and validate baseline schedules.
  • Lead schedule reviews and manage interfaces with stakeholders.
  • Monitor schedule updates and KPI reporting using Earned Value Methodology.
  • Support Contract Manager in time-related disputes and delay analysis.
  • Mentor other planners and support development in design schedules.
  • For Design: build project schedule in OdyC and ensure baselines in development schedule.

Could you be the full‑time Project Planning Manager in Ortigas, Manila, Philippines we’re looking for?

Your future role (Main Responsibilities)
  • Act as the right hand of the Project Director on all issues related to the project schedule.
  • Ensure/Contribute to the application of all planning processes, in bid and in execution, at Tactical / Operational and Strategic levels.
  • Promote the time management practices and culture in the project team.
  • Have an awareness level for industrial planning.
  • Capture and analyze the return of experience (REX) from its project.
  • Develop quality schedules in accordance with the company's procedures, contractual requirements, and stakeholder inputs.
  • Optimize schedules considering multiple criteria such as on‑time delivery, cash generation, penalty avoidance, and efficient utilization of available resources.
  • Ensure validation of the baseline schedule.
  • Develop a Project Time Management Plan.
  • Organize and lead regular project schedule review sessions, challenging stakeholders' assumptions about time performance.
  • Align the commitments of internal and external stakeholders, manage schedule interfaces, and proactively address inconsistencies.
  • Ensure on‑time updates of both internal and external schedules, monitoring stakeholders' adherence to schedule quality standards.
  • Identify critical paths and both actual and potential delays in complex, interlinked schedules.
  • Guide the project team in identifying and mitigating risks and in seizing opportunities related to on‑time delivery.
  • Lead the preparation of schedule and progress reports, illustrating progress with relevant KPIs and the Earned Value Methodology.
  • Support the Contract Manager in protecting the company's rights in time‑related disputes and perform delay analysis.
  • Provide support to teams on schedule‑related issues.
  • Mentor and support other planners.
  • For Design
    • Build the project schedule using the latest applicable templates in OdyC
    • Provide support to development manager on all issues related to development schedule
    • Ensure that configuration baselines are planned properly in the development schedule
    • Understand the risks of development logic deviations, provide warning to CoD if any
Performance measurement in contract or program execution
  • Timely updates of schedule and time related KPIs
  • Timely development of schedule related documents
  • Maintain the schedule in line with defined quality metrics
For WCM PR11 Experts
  • Ensure compliance and innovation through standardization and influencing best practices within the expert network.
  • Secure correct application of Processes through all phases, ensuring safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • SE/ME: Represent and enhance the WCM domain through benchmarking, certification support, and contributions to international standards and publications.
  • ME: Mentor and support SE, represent Alstom externally as a recognized global expert through participation in conferences, working groups, and contributions to international standards and publications.
All about you (Required Skills)
  • Engineering or Business degree holder.
  • WCM PR11 Experts: recognized by internal or external organization in the WCM domain. Planning Certification is desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in full time planning and scheduling role from Industrial or Construction background.
  • Knowledge of different scheduling tools and techniques
  • Detailed knowledge of scheduling theory and methods, such as EVM
  • Proficiency in one scheduling tool (OdyC, Primavera, etc.) and familiarity with an additional scheduling software tool (Kinaxis, POWER BI, TILOS)
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel or other data analysis tools
  • Knowledge of time‑related contractual obligations and principles of delay analysis
  • Basic comprehension of railway industry products and technologies
  • Curiosity, the drive to learn, and the readiness to share knowledge with others
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; an effective team player
  • Ability to challenge and guide teams and be proactive in proposing solutions
  • Adaptability in a multi‑cultural and rapidly changing environment
  • Good knowledge of the design logic
