DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, electrical load calculations, and technical specifications.
- Design electrical systems and products using computer-aided design (CAD) and engineering software.
- Create project plans, models, prototypes, and circuit diagrams for high and low voltage electrical equipment.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new technical developments and renewable energy projects.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND COORDINATION
- Manage power generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering work phases for projects of various sizes.
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and time schedules for projects.
- Oversee manufacturing processes for new electrical equipment.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
INSTALLATION, TESTING, AND MAINTENANCE
- Oversee installation, inspection, and maintenance of electrical systems, including lightning, heating, ventilation, and power supply.
- Conduct site visits for design investigations, troubleshooting, and quality assurance.
- Test electrical installations and systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations and performance standards.
- Manage maintenance programs and inspection schedules to ensure reliability.
SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE
- Ensure all electrical engineering work complies with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E).
- Conduct arc flash studies and hazard analysis.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on electrical safety issues.
- Prepare and review documentation for electrical permits and regulatory approvals.
DOCUMENTATION AND REPORTING
- Prepare and submit periodic progress reports to project directors or management.
- Develop technical engineering reports, specifications, and contract documents.
- Maintain project documentation and records.
- Provide public testimony or presentations to officials and stakeholders as required.
SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP
- Supervise and lead lower-level engineers, technicians, and craftspeople.
- Review and approve work performed by consultants and contractors.
- Provide technical guidance and training to team members.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research and resolve technical issues related to electrical systems.
- Stay updated with advances in electrical engineering and apply new technologies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
