Job summary

ON.energy is seeking a Software & Controls Engineer to design, develop, test, and commission control software and SCADA for energy storage and power infrastructure. You’ll bridge software engineering and field deployment, collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and clients to deliver high-performance control solutions that meet safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience developing PLC, HMI, and control software.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills in C++, Python, or C#.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens PLC programming (TIA Portal) and Ignition SCADA.

Responsibilities

• Design, model, and implement control algorithms for energy storage and power infrastructure.
• Define control strategy requirements and functional specifications.
• Develop and maintain PLC, HMI, and embedded/control software for energy systems.
• Configure, integrate, and maintain SCADA systems for BESS projects.
• Write clean, documented code following best practices.
• Build automation scripts, testing tools, and CI pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure full system functionality.
• Support hardware selection and integration for controllers, relays, meters, and networks.
• Perform FATs and SATs and troubleshoot real-time control issues.
