Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a Profilograph Engineer/Operator for the BASA Airbase project in Floridablanca, Pampanga, Philippines. The role focuses on operating profiling equipment, conducting pavement smoothness testing, and coordinating with engineering teams on schedules and data collection.

The ideal candidate has civil engineering or related technical education, an Operator Training Certificate, and experience with profilographs for concrete pavement testing.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Civil Engineering, Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related technical field.
• Experience operating profilograph for concrete pavement smoothness testing.
• Operator Training Certificate from a known certifying body.
• Ability to interpret profilograph data and prepare testing reports.
• Experience with airfield, highway, or heavy-duty concrete pavement testing is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate profilograph/profiling equipment safely during pavement testing and measurement activities.
• Operate a California-type profilograph for concrete and asphalt pavement smoothness testing.
• Conduct pavement profile and smoothness measurements per project specifications and procedures.
• Perform pre-operation checks, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure profiling equipment and sensors are properly set up before data collection.
• Monitor readings and identify irregularities or potential issues.
• Record, organize, and maintain profiling data and field measurements.
• Prepare or assist in profiling reports and documentation.
• Coordinate with Survey, QA/QC, Engineering, and Construction teams on testing schedules.
• Assist engineers in identifying pavement sections needing correction.
• Follow latest project drawings, specs, and testing requirements.
• Maintain care and maintenance of profiling equipment.
• Follow all project HSE requirements and safe practices.

Job Description

• Operate profilograph/profiling equipment safely and correctly during pavement testing and measurement activities.
• Operate a California-type profilograph for concrete and asphalt pavement smoothness testing
• Conduct pavement profile and smoothness measurements in accordance with project specifications and approved procedures.
• Perform pre-operation checks, equipment calibration, and basic troubleshooting.
• Ensure profiling equipment and sensors are properly set up before data collection.
• Monitor equipment readings and identify irregularities, abnormal measurements, or potential equipment issues.
• Record, organize, and maintain profiling data and field measurements.
• Prepare or assist in preparing profiling reports, measurement records, and other required documentation.
• Coordinate with Survey, QA/QC, Engineering, and Construction teams regarding testing schedules and results.
• Assist engineers in identifying pavement sections that may require correction or further investigation.
• Ensure that the latest project drawings, specifications, and testing requirements are followed.
• Maintain proper care, storage, and routine maintenance of profiling equipment.
• Follow all project HSE requirements and ensure safe working practices during field operations.
• Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the Project/Construction Manager.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Graduate of Civil Engineering, Surveying, Engineering Technology, or a related technical course; relevant technical experience may be considered.
• Previous experience operating a profilograph for concrete pavement smoothness testing.
• Experience with airfield, highway or heavy-duty concrete pavement testing is highly desirable.
• Must have an Operator Training Certificate by a known certifying body
• Ability to interpret profilograph/profile data and prepare testing reports
• Good understanding of pavement smoothness requirements and testing procedures.
• Profilograph Operator the ability to obtain a certification by the equipment manufacturer or an authorized manufacturer's representative (to be coordinated by the contractor)
• Ability to work in accordance with U.S. project specifications and Quality Control requirements.
• Good English communication and reporting skills.
• Computer literate, particularly in MS Excel and data-recording/reporting applications.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy in recording measurements.
• Willing to work on-site and under varying weather and project conditions.
