Job Summary

This role is a Product Owner/Business Analyst position bridging business needs and technical execution for a software implementation in an insurance context. The product owner will lead requirements engineering (discovery, BRD/PRD, user stories, prototypes) while coordinating closely with US and China stakeholders and engineering teams in an Agile delivery environment.

Responsibilities

• Requirements discovery & stakeholder alignment: Collect, analyze, and document requirements; drive alignment with stakeholders (e.g., US-based PM, China -based Ops). Identify business pain points and propose end-to-end solutions including workflow design and prioritization.
• Backlog ownership & story definition: Own/manage product backlog; translate business needs into epics/user stories with clear acceptance criteria; facilitate sprint grooming and support Agile ceremonies to ensure alignment and outcomes.
• Technical collaboration & feasibility/trade-offs: Partner with engineering/architects to perform technical feasibility analysis, define dependencies, and make scope/time/quality trade-offs; ensure sound web/app integration approaches (APIs, databases, data flows, auth basics).
• Cross-team delivery & UAT & release management: Coordinate delivery across frontend/backend/data/QA/DevOps/other product teams/UIUX; manage changes, risks, and releases; support testing and release readiness (UAT coordination, defect triage, release notes, post-release follow-up).
• Metrics & continuous improvement: Track delivery and product outcomes using metrics; continuously improve process and product quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in product ownership, business analysis, system implementation, or IT/enterprise system consulting.
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong capability in requirements engineering: discovery, documentation (BRD, PRD, Prototypes, User story/AC,), prioritization, and stakeholder management.
• Solid understanding of web applications and system integration fundamentals (e.g., APIs, databases, data flows, authentication basics).
• Excellent communication and alignment skills; able to explain complex topics clearly to both business and engineering.
• Strong English proficiency (spoken and written) for daily collaboration with US, China stakeholders.
• Strong learning agility; able to quickly ramp up on new domains, products, and technical concepts.
• Self-driven, accountable, and able to perform under pressure in a fast-moving environment.
• Familiar with Agile principles and able to collaborate effectively in an iterative delivery environment.
• Tools: Jira/Confluence, Figma, etc.

Preferred

• Experience with AI/ML products.
• Experience in insurance/fintech/enterprise SaaS domain.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools (SQL/BI) and metrics design.
• Speaking Mandarin.
