Job description

About TymeX

TymeX is the product, technology and data analytics hub of Tyme Group. At TymeX, we’re reimagining digital banking across emerging markets, across South Africa and Asia. Our mission is to unlock human potential, and we aim to do so through the development of transformative financial services that empower individuals and small businesses. We believe in the power of digital in building products that make a real difference in our customers’ lives.

About the Product Team

Early on, we realized that to truly deliver financial services that are transparent, fair, and intuitive, we’d have to reinvent how they’re created altogether. We needed people who could seamlessly blend strategic vision with hands‑on product management, who could effortlessly move from understanding customer needs to coordinating cross‑functional teams. And that’s exactly why our Product team exists. Part Product Visionary, part Business Strategist, part Customer Advocate. We are a team of digital evangelists, bankers, fintech‑ers and some less obvious backgrounds. Our offices are in Vietnam, but we operate from all over the world.

Today, our team run products that are improving the lives of more than 22 million customers.

Why work with TymeX
  • Innovation‑driven environment: Work with the latest technologies including Serverless aspects of AWS Cloud, AI‑augmented engineering, microservices, Java, and Python
  • International and collaborative culture: Be part of a dynamic team that values collaboration, continuous learning, and personal growth
  • Competitive benefits: Enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, opportunities for professional development (see below)
  • Learning and development: Access to technical seminars, conferences, career talks, and overseas training to accelerate your career advancement and ensure continuous growth
  • Impactful work: Contribute to projects that directly influence financial empowerment and access in emerging markets
About the Shared Lending Platform pod

Consumer Lending is the next major growth engine of the Group, and the Shared Lending Platform is the foundation it is built on: Real‑time credit decisioning, multi‑product origination, and collections, built once for every lending product across our markets.

What you’ll be doing

The Product Manager (PM) role will work closely with the Business, Design, Engineering teams to manage the full product development lifecycle of the Lending Platform, from concept and customer research, to design, launch, iteration and support.

  • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap of the Shared Lending Platform; the foundation that serves multiple consumer lending products and multiple markets.
  • Decide what is shared, what is product‑specific, and what is configurable, and defend those boundaries against the pressure every multi‑product platform faces.
  • Set the platform design principles: API contracts, configuration‑versus‑code, multi‑tenancy, abstraction layers, and reusability, and shape the platform’s evolution.
  • Drive build‑versus‑buy decisions for core platform components. Run vendor evaluations to defensible commercial and technical conclusions, with clear success criteria.
  • Lead the platform’s role in the Group’s real‑time credit decisioning capability, e.g., workflow orchestration, no‑code rule configuration with same‑day turnaround, feature store, bureau integration, and champion/challenger model testing, designed to run multiple parallel test programs at sub‑second latency.
  • Translate Risk, Credit, and Compliance requirements into high‑quality, engineering‑ready platform specifications (e.g., feature contracts, scoring interfaces, rule configurations).
  • Manage cross‑lending product dependencies and delivery sequencing.
  • Shape the platform’s role in IFRS9‑grade reporting and customer‑level data aggregation, feeding regulatory reporting, collections, and continuous credit assessment.
  • Enable the systematic use of data in lending, defining how the platform serves features, captures decision metadata, and accelerates the learning loop between origination, repayment behaviour, and credit‑strategy iteration.
  • Partner with Credit Analytics, and the Credit Risk function across Group, bringing platform fluency to credit‑strategy conversations.
Must‑have
  • 8+ years in Product Management, with a proven track record of building platform capabilities consumed by multiple product teams.
  • Familiarity with the credit and lending domain, e.g., affordability assessment, scoring, champion/challenger experimentation, vintage analysis and IFRS9/ECL concepts. You can hold your own with Credit Risk and Analytics.
  • Hands‑on experience with real‑time decisioning architectures at scale, e.g., workflow orchestration (BPMN or similar), rule engines, feature stores, and model serving.
  • Strong technical fluency in platform and API design and how to design platform surfaces that engineers want to build on.
  • Experience navigating multi‑country, multi‑product delivery, including the regulatory, integration, and localisation differences across markets.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to write specifications that ship without ambiguity.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management. Able to land hard decisions with Risk, Credit, Engineering, Compliance, and country business leaders.
Strong plus
  • Background in a digital bank, neobank, fintech credit business, or a quantitative environment (quant fund, risk‑modelling firm).
  • Experience with no‑code rule‑configuration tooling (Flowable, GDS Link, Provenir, or similar).
  • Experience defining the product surface for ML‑assisted credit decisioning, e.g., model lifecycle, monitoring, drift detection, and retraining workflows.
  • Exposure to collections architecture and direct‑debit rails.
  • Experience with regulatory credit reporting and decisioning audit obligations.
Mindset
  • A builder’s bias: Comfortable in 0‑to‑1 with high execution risk.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, a fast‑paced environment, and tackling complex challenges in a high‑growth business.
  • Intellectually inquisitive and curious about emerging technology as a step‑change lever.
  • Strong attention to detail, but practical, entrepreneurial, and quietly relentless.
  • A track record of leadership and achievement.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive salary that recognizes your talent and potential
  • Performance‑based bonus, including stock‑based incentives for high performers
  • Conferences and expert‑led training to accelerate your career
  • Flexibility to work from home or the office
  • Generous annual leave allowance, and paid day off for your birthday
  • Meal and parking allowances

We believe that our future will be won on the strength of our credit capability. We’re building our credit engine to be world‑class, and we’re looking for the person to lead it.
